But once you’ve made a few maps, it will become second nature. And, I admit, this took me a little while to get used to. I wouldn’t say this is a bad thing, just that it’s different than what many people are accustomed to. The most common selection is aptly named “Do It,” but there are other choices as well (cancel, combine, etc). Then, you right click and select what action you want to perform from a menu. Then, you choose the object you want to modify. When you want to do something in CC3, it’s a little bit different. When you want to do something in PhotoShop, you just pick the tool you want to use and go to town. If you’re already accustomed to using programs like PhotoShop, it may take a little while to get used to CC3, which is based on FastCad. So, unlike general graphics programs like PhotoShop or Gimp, you don’t have to be an artist to make a mountain – you just have to select the type of mountain you want and then place it wherever you choose on your map. There are templates to build on and the toolbars are packed not only with drawing aids, but actual mapping elements. The nice thing about CC3 is that it’s very easy to get started making maps.
